PlayStation 5 games to wait for in 2021

It has become Sony Interactive Entertainment's culture to also announce PlayStation 5 exclusive games when the console is announced. Of course, all the games won't be released anytime soon as development takes a lot of time. Especially since the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

PlayStation 5 games to wait for in 2021

Several games such as Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Gran Turismo 7, to Horizon: Forbidden West have indeed been confirmed to be present on the PlayStation 5. However, not a few are still shrouded in an unsolved mystery. The good news is, 2021 looks like it will be the opening for PlayStation 5 games to debut.

Then, what PlayStation 5 games have been confirmed to be coming in 2021? What are our recommendations? Here are the PlayStation 5 games that you must wait for in 2021.

Returnal

This game is one of the PS5 exclusives that will show the power of Sony's latest console. Unfortunately, since its announcement, we don't know the specific story about Returnal. But one thing is certain, this game is in the Roguelike genre, where when you are brought back to life, the world and the way it is finished will change.

Returnal is only described as telling a woman named Selene after she makes an emergency landing on an alien planet that is able to change its form. Players will be required to fight and escape from the alien threat.

Returnal is planned to be released on March 19, 2021 exclusively for PlayStation 5.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

Presented by Creative Director Ikumi Nakamura at E3 who finally left Tango GameWorks, Ghostwire: Tokyo is the newest first-person action thriller game from The Evil Within developer. The game tells the story of the city of Tokyo which lost 99% of its population and was replaced by creepy spirits.

Players will be tasked with unraveling the mystery behind the loss of the human population in Tokyo while beating up the spirits and demons that roam the Japanese capital. Gameplay in Ghostwire: Tokyo will revolve around players who play in a first-person perspective and it looks like he will have magic power that can be released through his hand called Kuji-kiri.

Players will be able to do takedowns, combos, and ranged attacks. Enemies can be killed using spiritual wire, when the "core" appears. Just like action games and RPGs, some enemies seem to have immunity to certain attacks.

Hit: Bridge of Spirits

When the trailer was first announced, Kena: Bridge of Spirits suddenly amazed thousands of fans thanks to the animation that the developer implemented. This is not a surprise considering that the developer itself, Ember Lab, is an animation studio that has had a career for years. However, his debut as a video game developer through Kena: Bridge of Spirits is likely to color PlayStation 5 fans this year.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits tells of a female spirit guide named Kena who will help spirits trapped in the real and astral world due to trauma or unfinished business. Kena is also said to have the goal of going to a temple located in the mountains to unravel the mystery of why the spirits seem troubled. On his journey, he will meet a creature named Rot who will help him explore the world he is exploring.

The game is planned for release in the first quarter of 2021 or around January-March because of the slower development due to COVID-19.

Horizon: Forbidden West

Success with its first iteration, the story of Horizon: Zero Dawn seems to be continuing. This is because the ending of the story still regrets the continuation of Aloy's story in uncovering the mystery of the machines. Sure enough, Guerrilla Games is serious about continuing its story in Horizon: Forbidden West.

The game looks exactly the same as the previous iteration. Here, Aloy will explore a new area called the Forbidden West to uncover the secrets of the past while facing new enemies and making friends with some of the tribes that inhabit him.

Sony itself has not confirmed when Horizon: Forbidden West will be released. They only explained that the game will be launched in mid-late 2021. In other words we have to wait for it between July-December 2021. However, with the situation still in chaos like this, the possibility of the date changing is very high.

God of War: Ragnarok

The 2018 reboot of the fantastic God of War for Sony Santa Monica continues the story of Kratos in the next iteration we now know as Ragnarok. It's not clear what the details of the story are, but the basis of the story will include Kratos and his son Atreus to face new enemies as Ragnarok gets closer.

At the end of the God of War 2018 story yesterday, the two of them met the god of thunder, Thor. But it looks like the meeting won't go on peacefully. According to the trailer, in June 2020, Kratos seemed to tell Atreus to prepare himself. Indicate that the rest of the story will focus on the Nordic deity.

It is not clear when the game will be released even though the trailer clearly says 2021, but with the presence of COVID-19, things might change.

That's the PlayStation 5 game that must be waited for in 2021.
