Elite Dangerous Odyssey Ready to Launch Spring

You can get to the planet in the spring.

An airplane game with the theme of space exploration and MMORPG elements would not be complete without being there to set foot on every planet you visit. This is something that Frontier Developments was aware of when developing Elite Dangerous.

 

Having a very large world, solid mechanics with several random planets that are generated automatically, certainly makes the feature of stepping on the planet a need to think carefully. Starting from content to life. Therefore Frontier does not want to rush to solve it. The climax was when they announced Odyssey as Elite Dangerous' latest expansion.

This expansion provides major changes when it is released in 2021. One of the most important things is how players can finally set foot on the planet they are targeting. Unfortunately, it looks like the Elite Dangerous expansion won't be able to be enjoyed in the near future. At least until the spring of 2021.

Through its update on Steam, Frontier announced that the Elite Dangerous Odyssey will be playable in Spring 2021 on PC. The alpha will start in early spring, while the console version will be released in fall 2021.

PC players who want to enjoy the alpha version of the Elite Dangerous Odyssey must have the Deluxe or Lifetime Pass version. They will try how the main mechanics of the expansion, especially the features that run on the planet.

While the release will be released in late spring 2021. Players who have purchased the expansion will be able to enjoy it directly on PC via Steam.

The console version will be targeted for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in fall 2021. It's unclear whether Frontier will also be eyeing the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, but it's possible that players can play them with backwards compatibility features.

The delay was due to COVID-19 and changes to the game development schedule. Frontier will have to adapt even to 2021. They were forced to change the roadmap and apologize to fans for the delay.

Elite Dangerous Odyssey will be releasing late spring 2021 on PC, while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One X versions will be out in fall 2021.
